Americans for Pharma Reform’s first bus tour rolls through Kingman
A brand new group, Americans for Pharma Reform, made an appearance at the Kingman Republican Women meeting on Sept. 2 to promote the start of their nationwide bus tour.
Kingman Republican Women members listened to the Americans for Pharma Reform Executive Director Rob Burgess as he gave a quick speech on the importance of pharma reform.
“Massive corporations have monopolized the market, priced prescriptions to benefit profits rather than patients, and completely ignored the free-market principles that let them thrive in the first place,” Burgess said. “We do not believe reforming Big Pharma is punishing success but ensuring that success does not come at the expense of competition, fairness, and the American consumer. As in all businesses, they should focus on competing in a truly free market where competition thrives, innovation is rewarded, and consumers are protected from exploitation.”
Americans for Pharma Reform is an organization dedicated to changing the course of Big Pharma’s current practices and impacts. The bus tour will make stops throughout Arizona, Montana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania in hopes of spreading awareness about Pharma Reform.
The brightly colored bus will act as a moving petition that tour attendees can sign to show their support of the organization’s cause.
The Bust Big Pharma bus tour will come to an end on election day, Nov. 5, in Philadelphia.
